Fallstudie Informationssysteme

This module teaches methods for carrying out data analytics projects. To this end, students work in small groups on a current problem from the practical field of production and logistics. The tasks cover the areas of data modeling, data preprocessing, and data analysis using data mining and machine learning. The necessary knowledge is conveyed through short introductory lectures. The small groups define the task themselves based on a given dataset and work through the individual steps—such as goal definition, data preparation, and algorithm selection—under guidance during office hours held throughout the semester. The module has an interdisciplinary focus and places particular emphasis on the practical application of the methods learned in real-world project situations. The focus of the small groups may vary and covers the entire spectrum of data analytics, from data preparation to monitoring model performance.
