Our research profile at ITPL
The ITPL deals with solutions to problems from the broad spectrum of information technologies in the application field of production and logistics. In addition to the comprehensive expertise, carried by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rabe, in the area of discrete-event simulation, questions in the area of experiment design, procedure models and the requirements for input and output data in simulation are also addressed.
Another research field of the department is data analysis with a focus on data mining as well as knowledge representation in production and logistics. In numerous research projects and publications, questions concerning data quality, automation mechanisms and demand-oriented process models have been discussed.
In recent years, a research area characterized by synergy has emerged from the two supporting pillars. This pursues the different coupling mechanisms between data mining and simulation and is reflected in current research projects on data farming and graph analyses.
